“The Proteus PRO- Case gives tradies, miners or anyone looking for protection for their iphone 100% confidence from the harsh environments work places can hold, such as dust, water, mud or sand,” Mr Taylor says.

Australian Cancer Council Warns of Eye Damage from UV Radiation

According to the Cancer Council of Australia and Centre Eye Research Australia have determined that the sun’s ultraviolet radiation does more than just put you at risk for skin cancer, it also leads to eye injury ranging from mild irritations to conjunctiva cancer. The Centre Eye Research organization determines the standard for Australia, and it also classifies sunglasses and fashion glasses.

Many are unaware that ultraviolet damage can occur with overcast skies. Snow blindness can also occur. However, according to the Centre Eye Research the real problem is the result of accumulative UV rays. This can result in cataracts earlier than normal, pterygium, retinal damage, and conjunctiva cancer.

It is important that workers use eye protection that offers UV protection. If you wear safety glasses, they should be rated for UV protection. If you are not required to wear safety glasses, you should invest in high quality sunglasses with the proper UV rating to ensure your eyes are properly protected from damage.

The worst kind of eye injury is the one you don’t get until years later, which is the case with conjunctiva cancer. Like skin cancer it will be decades from now when you are diagnosed with such a serious health concern. Sadly, it could have been prevented by using proper protection against ultraviolet rays.
